Hosted by Emmy-award winning Telemundo personality Sofia Lachapelle

MIAMI (July 24, 2017) – The Miami Chapter of Asociación Emergencia Ayacucho (AEA), a non-for-profit organization benefitting orphan children in Ayacucho, Peru, presents its 31st annual fundraiser “The Orchid Gala” on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the Miami Marriott Dadeland Hotel. AEA Miami welcomes Emmy-award winning journalist and presenter of Telemundo’s Al Rojo Vivo show, Sofia Lachapelle, as gala emcee.

Dr. Aldo F. Berti with Miami Neurosurgical Center will serve as honorary chairman of the gala, which will begin at 7:30PM with a delectable cocktail hour. During that time, guests can sign up for an array of silent auction items featuring travel and leisure, fine jewelry, fine art and much more. While guests enjoy the fine dining portion of the evening, acclaimed husband and wife opera singers Tenor Martin Nusspaumer and Soprano Maria Antunez will sing Peruvian and Latin American songs accompanied by renowned Pianist Roberto Berrocal. A live band will also entertain the invitees.

To attend this event, please reserve your tickets or purchase a table by visiting www.AEAMiami.com/Donate.

AEA was established in 1985 thanks to a contribution by his Holiness Pope John Paul II who declared a state of emergency in Ayacucho when he saw the devastating effects of terrorism in the area leaving behind many orphan children. The donation was provided to the Archbishop of Ayacucho who built refuge homes for orphaned children. AEA’s mission is to provide assistance with housing and education for the children in three orphanages and youth in two shelters supervised by the Archdiocese of Ayacucho, as well as provide numerous programs that support children that are victims of poverty and abandonment. AEA, now recognized for its dedicated volunteer work, fulfills its mission through fundraising events and donations.

AEA Miami’s board of directors is led by its President Violeta Cepeda (Past Vice-President), Vice President Patricia Scerpella (Past President), Co-Secretaries Gabriela Miani and Sarah Couto, Treasurer Yolanda Valls and Directors: Sonia Aguayo, Carmen Rosa Amorós (Past President), Blanca Denis, Carla Ligia Erraez, Marisol Gomez (Past President), Maricarmen Patron and Carmen Tower.

AEA Miami is a 501©3 organization. All donations and sponsorship opportunities as well as in-kind products and services are tax deductible. Please visit us at www.AEAMiami.com to learn more about our projects and how you can help.
